About

It Girl City Guides makes digital city guides for a specific trip: three to five days in a European city, planned in an evening instead of forty tabs and a month of saved TikToks. Each guide is one neighborhood-by-neighborhood plan: where to eat, where to drink, what to photograph, and what to skip, with an address, a price, and a source behind every line.

We don't write tourist guides. We don't cover the main square. We cover the three streets behind it. Every place gets one test: if you put it on your Instagram story, does someone ask where it is, or say they already know it because a coach tour stops there? The second answer doesn't make the guide, and when a famous square or landmark genuinely earns its place, we still say so plainly.

How a guide gets made

Every place starts as a lead, not a fact. We pull from what creators, travel writers, and people who actually live in the city are posting and publishing right now, then cross-check the address, price, and hours before it goes anywhere near a guide. General travel sites and tourism boards are useful for one thing only: logistics like transit prices and opening hours. We don't take restaurant or bar recommendations from them, because that's the list everyone else is already copying.

Every place, price, and hour in a guide carries the source and the date it was checked. If a claim can't be sourced, it doesn't get written down, not as a guess, not as "supposedly." This is a trip people are paying to plan around; a wrong address costs someone an evening.

What the two marks mean

Inside a guide you'll see two small marks next to a place. ⚠️ Verify before you go means one detail, usually the street number or a price, couldn't be independently confirmed before publishing. It's printed next to the specific thing to check, not hidden in fine print. Checked on the ground means someone working on the guide has actually been and can vouch for the line next to it, first-hand. Most places carry neither mark: they're simply sourced and dated, which is the baseline, not a bonus.

Why one city at a time

This is a one-person operation, and that's on purpose, not a stage we're trying to grow out of. One person means one standard: nothing ships that hasn't been checked by the same eyes, and nothing gets sold before it's actually done. A team producing twenty cities at once would have to cut corners somewhere to hit that pace. Going slower and finishing one city properly, watching how it holds up, then moving to the next, is the trade we've chosen to make instead.

If something's wrong

Places close, prices change, and a source can turn out to be outdated. If a guide sends you somewhere that no longer exists or isn't what we described, tell us through /contact and we'll fix it. Guides get a refresh pass on a regular schedule, but a note from someone who was actually there is faster and more reliable than any schedule.
